I'm writing to seek advice on disagreeing with the decision of the pip assessment. Letter is dated 15th Nov. I received it 19th. So need advice now. Assessor described my son as interacting well with good eye contact. His eyes faced the floor as normal for him. No signs of stress. Visibly shaking from my view. Totally red neck reaching his cheeks, from my view. Didn't need prompting. Every question had to be repeated and re-phrased. I had to help and answer 8 out of 10 questions. Can plan and follow journeys unaided, even though I told her he's never been on a bus or taxi or train alone. He can make complex budgeting decisions even though he has none, as he lives at home. How can this be allowed? I told the assessor he'd been on the loo all morning and had to find a cafe for loo as we walked to the assessment. No mention. They said everything about him was normal. This is a total untruth. Why would I be trying to find him some small help if he were normal? If he was, he'd be full time employed with good salary, friends, social life, girlfriends, that's normal. My son has worked at homebase filling shelves for 8 years. 2 shifts a week late at night. Every shift he is filled with dread and feels sick. This will never change. I'm proud he hasn't said I'm not going. But if money were no object, I'd say stay home. The consultant that diagnosed my son asked why I was there? Said, my son was diagnosed with learning difficulties since couldn't talk properly at 5. And we, his parents won't always be around, need to know if he is autistic as I've read similarities. We worry about how he'll look after himself after were gone. My son is a prisoner in his own home due to his autism and it's deplorable that bureaucracy and cuts in benefit leave my son totally ignored. I need advice please.
