3Di

Hi,

I have a 3Di assessment next week, which I know is a computer based developmental, dimensional & diagnostic interview. I am feeling quite apprehensive about it & would appreciate some information on what to expect. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My son is 6 yrs old now but I 'knew' from just a few months old that he was 'different'. I expressed my concerns to the medical professions for 5 years...but was only when he started school that those concerns were recognised. So, at this stage I feel a real mixture of emotions-I am relieved that he may finally get the support he needs, I AM actually being listened to, but am also in the 'it's just hit me & become real' kinda mode.

  • Hi,

The 3Di is actualy not that bad (if its what I think it is, Im useless with names of things). Its just the same old questions that you are used too, asked in a different order! lol! Its a tool to help the doctors.

In my sons case the doc had already decided which areas needed covered, they ask the first question and the computer prompts the next question. It does take a while and might not be completed in one appointment.

I do think the emotions you go through are probably the hardest part of assesments for parents and I think we should get some seperate counciling to help us cope, we do what we can to help our children but there is no one for us. Thats why i joined this forum, its the only support I have.

    Good luck with everything
