9Yr Old finally diagnosed

Hi everyone,

My boy is 9 and has just been dianosed with ASD its taken a long time for Drs to actually listen to us.

Now we have the dianosis I am actually a little overwhelmed, we knew that our boy wasnt just naughty as the school and Drs kept telling us. I'm a little lost as to where to turn now Ive read books and websites but my mind can't take everything in!

Has anyone else had this experience ??

    Welcome to the site. Don't despair! The future is much brighter for your little ones with a diagnosis than without. There is a vast amount of information already posted in old threads so please spend some time using the "search the community" facility (top left of the page) but also don't hesitate to raise your own questions too.
