Aspergers and Mental Health

Really concerned about my son almost 15.

He has admitted today that he is feeling really down and has attempted Suicide on a couple of occasions.

Really not a huge surprise, but just worried how he will cope with fight for help.

Has anyone any experience of CAMHS in Wakefield area?

  • Thank you both, H was diagnosed with Aspergers in 2005 at 5, and still in school.

I took him out of school just before his 6th Birthday as School were not coping, and he turn was not coping well at school.

He has always shown signs of anxiety, and gets very stressed about tests and exams.

I think the main issues are some ongoing health issues and the fight we have had for treatment, and his grandmother moving in with us.

He has talked about suicide in the past, normally only during a meltdown (thankfully rare)
