Really concerned about my son almost 15. 

He has admitted today that he is feeling really down and has attempted Suicide on a couple of occasions.

Really not a huge surprise, but just worried how he will cope with fight for help.

Has anyone any experience of CAMHS in Wakefield area?

  • Hi I also don't know about Wakefield CAMHS, but as someone with high functioning autism I know a lot about Suicide, as I have thought about it, and attempted it several times.  So much so, that I have been in hospital afterwards, mental not physical.  I think it is appaling the lack of knowledge about autism and suicide attempts that I am now going to do my PhD in suicide prevention for those with autism.  Please make sure your son sees CAMHS and that he know that he isn't alone.  Please take care of him as he is precious.
