So fed up!

When my son was in Year 2 he saw a Paed and got diagnosed with Auditory Processing Difficulties. The Paed said that he had ADHD and ASD traits, but didn't want to pursue assessment. He is now in Year 5 and we are back at square one. Back at the Paed in March. I just want to scream and cry. I want answers. I am sick of this. I am really struggling to cope with my son's differences because of the lack of answers. This could have been sorted 3 years ago. But no! ARRRGGGHHH (sorry, just wanted to vent somewhere where they may understand LOL)

  • Hi Skelosia - same here. I have been waiting four years for a diagnosis so know exactly how you feel. The lack of provision in this country for such struggling kids is appalling.

Anyway, my boy had his ADOS a few weeks ago and I am hoping, with all the other assessments they may be able to give some answers - but like you I am worrying about NOT getting answers and support. Feels like I have been in the dark too long now and my son is getting more and more challenging with his meltdowns.

    Tired and exhausted!
