Ideas for new games in the Olympics?

Well, the weirdest opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics 2026, but what I find incredibly moving are the parade of athletes, indicating peace and shared ethics, also the passing on of the Olympic flame. What amazes me are some of the sports considered ‘Olympic’ level – beach volleyball, table tennis, sliding.

Which sport[s] would you like to see added? The only rule is, they must be from everyday experience:

  1.  Heavy weight bread– producing a loaf heavier than 1.5 kilos despite using yeast
  2. Forefinger and thumb lifting a teacup from the sofa [couch potato level 3]
  3. Most elegant fall over front doorstep
  4. Dance portrayal of wasp in a car and the door won’t open
  5. Detecting if the customer services employee you’re emailing is real or AI
  6. Fastest silent dish-washer emptying, without breakages or swearing

  • Sitting and staring into space. I'm really good at that.

Honestly though, I caught a glimpse of the opening ceremony whilst changing chanels and it was enough to make me want to  hurl abuse and solid objects at the telly, I really really dislike sport, the winter olympics are marginally more bareable than the summer ones, but I still hate it.

I wonder how bored people were when they invented curling? It seems to me that you've have to be pretty bored to even think of it in the first place?

Yes, I'm fond of this too! It's a shame about these non-sport sports as it takes away from the skills, strength and artistry of things like the beam, the rings and ice dancing.
