The bill has passed, now onto the HoL

THIS TREAD IS ABOUT THE ASSISTED DYING BILL.

I'm glad it's passed, I know any people will disagree, and I respect thier choice, as I can't take any pain killers except paracetamol, this bill gives me some comfort that when the end is in sight, I have some choices and hopefully won't have to depart before I'm ready.

  • That's very sad. I am devasted that this bill passed and ashamed of this country  and ashemd to live here for it's agenda to try kill off all that are in their minds 'useless'.

Don't think that it will always be your choice or even your family's choice. The council and DWP already hate us people with illnesses or disabilities. It is not hard to imagine they could bump us off to save a little cash

  • Completely agree with you there. I’m ashamed of the UK and being from here all the more now! I personally believe in heaven but I don’t believe assist dying will get you there. Not trying to cause an argument but I do feel likes of us are at risk now. Worried it will turn into Logan’s run soon enough

  • Aww I am so sorry to hear that! PIP were so rude to me as well and I’m getting pestered by the job centres to get a job. Also get told why should I be alive if I can’t focus or get a job? God gave us life just so little people see that. And although I don’t know yourself and your mum, tell her she’s not a bother at all. It’s just life, so many people out there just want to make it harder! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the way I do

  • Yep absolutely, it won't get your there and thats sad to take yourself out of the running. The alternative is not good and suffering will get worse not better.

I also feel like we are at risk. Also the elderly, my mom said to me that whenever she tries to get benefits or help for her or my dad she gets the impression she's too much hassle and they wish she'd just shuffle off the mortal coil and stop bothering them. I have felt the same applying for PIP.
