What do you do on a weekend?

As the title says, really.

I find that on a weekend I get up fairly early (5:15AM) as I don't like doing lie-ins. I'll then head to the gym at some point that morning and do a class or two, or perhaps just do a workout/swimming session and/or spend time in the spa. More often than not, I have absolutely nothing else planned for the weekend, meaning I have two long afternoons that drag out and I do nothing but procrastinate, making me feel unproductive and bringing my mood down.

I used to enjoy gaming and I do still occasionally, but not so much now, and it feels like such a waste of time when I do it. I'm trying to be more forgiving with myself, and right now I'm laid in bed watching Impractical Jokers, which I enjoy and don't feel so bad about doing, but it'd be nice to have some more things to fill my weekend with.

I'd like to know what everyone else gets up to on the weekend.

  • I hate weekends really. There is no strict routine, that gives me comfort during the week, there is constant noise and chaos at home. it’s always that I try hard to have some time in the morning to myself only, but it’s usually impossible. During the week I wake up at 5:20, take my pill for hypothyroidism, then I have my half hour for pacing my kitchen with my favorite music on headphones, it’s quiet, everybody sleeps. I need this routine to have a balanced day, but on weekends it’s usually impossible so I’m imbalanced, the day starts not as it should. And this constant interruption whenever I try to do something. I hate weekends! The only good thing about them is that I have some more time for myself in the late evening if I have enough power to stay late. The problem with weeks is that the work during the weekdays exhausts me really.

  • The working week can be exhausting. I’m sorry you don’t get much peace during the weekend but am glad you at least get some time to yourself–self care is important but finding time to relax isn’t always easy. The weekend is my time to myself. My weekdays are always busy, especially of late as I have to manage everything going on by myself-it involves a lot of people coming to my home and meeting at the village hall-but despite my anxieties I’ve been enjoying the company as I’ve felt lonely of late.
My weekends are my solace. The routine is almost always the same and it’s almost always just me. Weekdays are busy-busy always on the go and constantly being pestered. Weekends are my time to relax.
