What do you do on a weekend?

As the title says, really.

I find that on a weekend I get up fairly early (5:15AM) as I don't like doing lie-ins. I'll then head to the gym at some point that morning and do a class or two, or perhaps just do a workout/swimming session and/or spend time in the spa. More often than not, I have absolutely nothing else planned for the weekend, meaning I have two long afternoons that drag out and I do nothing but procrastinate, making me feel unproductive and bringing my mood down.

I used to enjoy gaming and I do still occasionally, but not so much now, and it feels like such a waste of time when I do it. I'm trying to be more forgiving with myself, and right now I'm laid in bed watching Impractical Jokers, which I enjoy and don't feel so bad about doing, but it'd be nice to have some more things to fill my weekend with.

I'd like to know what everyone else gets up to on the weekend.

  • Like you, I am awake around 5.30am and get on with housework otherwise it would not get done. I cycle around to collect a newspaper and go out again in the afternoon. Sundays, I ride with the local cycling club and enjoy a fast pace ride to a cafe somewhere between forty and seventy miles. If not cycling then litter picking.

  • Golly, getting up at 5:30 am, that's more of a late night to me than a morning! I rarely get to sleep before 1am and more like 2 or 2:30 am, it wouldn't feel worth going to bed if I was to get up that early.

  • I wish I had the choice but I get bored with sleep and there is no point trying to sleep when it gets so frustrating.

  • I enjoy sleep and don't understand how you can get bored with it, I just fall asleep and have amazingly weird dreams, my internal telly is often more interesting than real telly! I do get that insomnia is horrible, having suffered from it intermitantly.
