What do you do on a weekend?

As the title says, really.

I find that on a weekend I get up fairly early (5:15AM) as I don't like doing lie-ins. I'll then head to the gym at some point that morning and do a class or two, or perhaps just do a workout/swimming session and/or spend time in the spa. More often than not, I have absolutely nothing else planned for the weekend, meaning I have two long afternoons that drag out and I do nothing but procrastinate, making me feel unproductive and bringing my mood down.

I used to enjoy gaming and I do still occasionally, but not so much now, and it feels like such a waste of time when I do it. I'm trying to be more forgiving with myself, and right now I'm laid in bed watching Impractical Jokers, which I enjoy and don't feel so bad about doing, but it'd be nice to have some more things to fill my weekend with.

I'd like to know what everyone else gets up to on the weekend.

  • Yesterday I went on a coach day trip.  The coach was completely full.  We spent 2 hours in the North Yorkshire town of Richmond followed by 2.5 hours in the town of Northallerton.   Both very nice market towns with lots of rich people living in them.  It made a good change from my city life.

  • Is this something you do regularly? Do you find yourself chatting with the other people on the day trip?

  • Sometimes I chat when people recognise me from the same coach while outside and we find ourselves in a similar situation.

In Northallerton I chatted to two women from the coach because we couldn't find our way out of a department store.  We visited the toilets on the first floor, then the three of us couldn't find the down escalator because there wasn't one.  It turns out there is a central escalator up from the ground floor to the first.  But to get down we had to use stairs hidden at the side of the store.
