Recent Diagnosis

Hi my son was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum on 30th June by a speech therapist for autism, she has said that I will get another appt in 6-8 weeks time and he will be seen by a second specialist for diagnosis.  She says that the diagnosis has to be made by 2 people.  Help is this correct?  I feel like I am having to wait longer when I could and should be getting help.  Please advise.

  • My paed was very good and referred us to social work and they referred us onto other agencies we are waiting to hear from . But other than that we have very little support which makes you frustrated but i read somewhere that this frustration looking for help is part of the acceptance road ..but im afraid its banging down peoples doors asking for help ...i hope this helps you a bit ..there are a few of us on here who are all at the same stage in the diagnosis process and we all seem to say the same lack of knowing what to do .. but we all keep each other going ..
