Always in pain but no cause

Hi I'm new here.

I'm always in pain usually in my abdomen and groin area. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting for ages. Last night it woke me up just gone 1 and I had pain in my abdomen and groin area, and then when I went to the toilet it hurt and burnt.

This isn't the first time. I've had this before, and been to the doctor's before and I had a urine infection the first time but the last couple of times I've had tests, bloods and scans, nothing showed up.

I saw the nurse practitioner this afternoon and she did a urine check, nothing in the urine dip. She read my records and didn't think we need to do any other checks.

Unsurprisingly this has left me feeling a little low and like I'm a time waster.

I genuinely feel unwell and in pain most of the time but nothing is ever found. I'm starting to worry that the doctors will think I'm messing them about.

And then I also worry that there's something seriously wrong but it has been a few years so I'm wondering if it's my anxiety making me think this way.

  • Have they sent the urine to the hospital for a culture? Is it cloudy? If there definitely isn’t any bacteria (dipsticks only show a certain type I forget which now but it metabolises into nitrites which is what the dipstick picks up) and it burns to pee then maybe there is some other kind of inflammation, interstitial cystitis? That said if you have very tense muscles down below it can also cause discomfort
