High blood pressure anxiety

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure last year. Overall I am a healthy guy, eat pretty good and don't drink alcohol, and active in sport. Chronic anxiety is the cause of the high blood pressure. I get bleeding, not enough to get dehydrated but it can be embarrassing as it can come out my eyes, nose and mouth. I'm told by the doctors and nurses that this is normal because of my health complications but it's causing severe anxiety. I'm afraid to go out and see people because of the anxiety and afraid I'll bleed and be stared at. Is anyone else like this? I feel very alone with this.

  • If you feel yourself becoming anxious, there is physiological 'trick' that can help lower blood pressure. When you breathe in, blood pressure drops, and when you breathe out it rises, this is a normal physiological phenomenon. So, if you repeatedly breathe in for 5 or 6 seconds and breathe out for 2 seconds, it cumulatively lowers your blood pressure. There is a scientific paper on it I found online.

  • My nose bled, so much, as a boy. However, it hasn't happened for at least a decade; if not two.

I was also a bedwetter as a boy. Again, anxiety. I still have to use the loo so much.
