career path, university and special interests

My special interest is ancient greece, and I'm trying to figure out if I should get a degree in the classics or keep it as comfort. I'm scared that if I do study it, I will associate it with academic stress and it won't give me the joy and soothing that I need from it. What should I do? Should a special interest be a career path?

  • Often the best combo is making a career; academic and professional out of an autistic specialism.  It can be a real winner for us.  That Mr Packham turned out quite nicely :-)  A bit of a national treasure, in fact, all because of his enthusiasm for his discipline.

Ultimately only you can decide, but the fact that you love the topic with a passion might make it more joy than stress for you.
