Diagnosis at last

Hey everyone.

Not been on for a while as life was getting a bit much trying to get an assessment for my son. After 22 months of waiting we finally got there and have been given a diagnosis of Aspergers. This hasconcluded an 11 yr fight I have had for someone to agree that there is something and not my parenting.

Now we have the diagnosis where do I start? I have informed relatives and the school. I have had so many different emotions this week. Anger, Tearful, but most of all relief that someone has finally listened. Would be great for some advice and what to do next

  • Hi - take Intense's advice + you'll certainly be off to a vg start.  It's a strange feeliing when you finally, finally get what you've fought for for so long.  Sometimes not the feeling you'd expected, more a kind of relief rather than any thing else.  Take your time to adjust to the different circumstances.  We all need time to recoup, especially when the fight's been so long.
