Hiya everyone I have a little boy who is 4 and had been referred to a speech therapist by pre school teacher but we feel when referred we didn't Know it was autism she said he didn't talk or play with others or take instruction. Like lots of you by the time they usually get an appointent they are different ! my boy plays with others now and is starting to talk. We feel like his is just needing hhelp with his speech and his social communicaton he can understand instruction but if giveN to an unfamiliar adult he appears to go mute he does know what to so but like he gets over whelmed he doesn't have any behavioural problems (she said oh well he is biddable then), routines, obsessions or sensory things. We feel that our therapist is leading for example he was picking a butterfly sticker and she gestured butterfly wings with her hands and he copied and she said oh he's arm flapping does he do that alot and then he skipped to his dad and she said tip toe walking we said no we have never seen him do a up of thoses things?! he copying her gesture.
It it's turning me into crazy person with all this info, is anyone else's child like this and what hhelp do they actually give it all seems for my boy to be fitting him in to the box.
