Eating and anxiety

Are you happy with your eating habits? Do you get anxiety about eating? I still get anxiety when I go to a restaurant sometimes and also if my partner makes food that I'm not happy about and then I sometimes have a meltdown because things are not going the way I want. Do you experience something like this as well? I wish I could be more relaxed around food. I'm pretty happy otherwise how I eat. I used to eat basically just candy but now I eat pretty healthy.

  • I'm not overweight, but I usually feel anxiety and guilt for my eating habits

  • I get pretty anxious if a dinner I'm making, one of regular stock, didn't come out perfect.

I'm devastated if I come back from shopping and turns out I forgot to buy one of ingredients for a dinner I wanted to make. Once I recover I make something that's possible to make out of what I have, out of neccessity, but I'm very unhappy about it.

I feel to uncomfartable in restaurants to enjoy eating there. I'd rather takeaway and eat in a park

  • Hi, it’s something I have a lot of trouble with, it’s led to meltdowns in restaurants. It seems everyone else can navigate menus. To me that 10 minutes from the menu arriving to when I have to choose is about 10 seconds and panic sets in. Someone advised me to look online at the menu a few days before and choose something that I can tolerate. To be honest I just try to stay away from eating out. I find it nice to buy ingredients that I like, today we are having a  bbq, I’m making some chicken skewers, I hate tomatoes, too mushy. I make up some with and some without. My wife loves prawns so I make some skews for her. It’s not hard to navigate, you just have to be honest with each other, perhaps try making something together.
