I use the train at the weekend. I rode my bike to the train station and then used the train then rode to my Mum's house. I was very anxious about the journey, but it was not so bad in the end.
Do you worry about using public transport?
I'll never ever use public transport. I walk every where if I have to go out but mostly I'll stay in when I can.
Last month I was returning from Otley to Leeds by bus on a Saturday evening.
The normal printed timetable had buses every 20minutes.
The emergency timetable, because of COVID and staff shortages had buses every 30minutes.
I waited 1hour and 20minutes for the bus. When it finally arrived and left, the people downstairs were standing packed like sardines. People were even sitting on all the stairs. Perfect conditions for infecting people with COVID.
I try to travel off peak for that reason.
Public transport is becoming more and more problematic for me every day.
The big problems are cancelled and delayed buses and trains. And when they arrive, they are overcrowded.
Yeah, I get a lot of the what ifs
I find people talking to me makes it easier. As long as they are polite.
wow! that's amazing. i don't mean for that to sound patronising, sorry if that's how it sounds. it's just that sounds really difficult.
i definitely worry about using public transport. if i buy a ticket online, what happens if they don't accept it? or what if i buy one at the time and my card is declined? what if there isn't anywhere to sit? what if they go the wrong way and we get lost? what if i get off at the wrong stop? what if someone sits next to me? what if they want to talk?! and therefore i do not use public transport

I prefer to go by rail rather than on the bus, simply because there is usually more space, What i do worry about is, if someone comes to sit next to me, and starts talking
I dont like using buses because bus drivers are often very rude and inconsiderate. Trains I enjoy unless they are really crowded
