Hi - Scorpion's spot on with his info about proprioceptiveness + an OT who knew about autism wd pick up on that + may have suggestions which might help

It's a common thing amongst some autistic people.

Those that have a proprioceptive hyposensitivity.

Some have a proprioceptive hypersensitivity, and can't stand to bounce or be bounced.

Others just have a normal proprioceptive sensitivity.

i cant find anything that stimulates him to bounce, he just bounces everywhere.

he like your daughter has no fear, and will bounce on and off anyhting, the only thing he doesnt like is the static he creates when on the trampoline.

i have asked him to stop and he says sorry mummy, and then bounces again!

its so distracting, as you see him out of the corner of your eye, bouncing away.

Hi my daughter bounces on our beds my bed was metal and she broke the middle bar i sleep on my matteress on the floor till i can afford to buy a new frame. She jumps off window sill on to my bed which is a big jump she also climbs onto the top bunk and lauches herself onto her divan bed i worry shes going to real hurt herself. I ask her to stop but she just laughs at me she has no fear.

Hi - are there particular circumstances which stimulate your son to bounce, such as being excited by something on tv for example, or being upset?  My son bounced for yrs. I found that beds with slats didn't hold up well + that a good divan bed was better, esp if you put something between the mattress + the base to cushion the force of the bounce.  Also with my son he tended to bounce in 1 place - the right hand side at the end so that wd go 1st.
