GP Blues

Just wondering if anyone else  with autism has any issues/problems with contacting the GP now.  In my area its phone consultations only initially and it sometimes causes me stress.   I miss the old face to face contact.    On mentioning the fact that I had Aspergers I was met by silence.

  • The danger of saying Aspergers!

If people don't ask or don't know, don't tell them.

I remember a post here, many years ago, where someone was describing their experience of their social worker, how she was friendly, cheerful, very helpful.  Until he told her he had Aspergers, He never saw her again.

As for GPs appointments, we are all having problems with them, before this silly virus I had to wait two weeks to see a GP.  Now it's telephone consultation only.

  • does your local gp not have a online "ask my gp" feature where you can fill in a descriptive form online which goes through to them like a chat box system that they can deal with any time?
