GP Blues

Just wondering if anyone else  with autism has any issues/problems with contacting the GP now.  In my area its phone consultations only initially and it sometimes causes me stress.   I miss the old face to face contact.    On mentioning the fact that I had Aspergers I was met by silence.

  • i find it better... i hated having to go in and then wait in a waiting room for 4 hours among contagious coughing people only to be blown off by the GP in seconds when you see them as they make out whatever you went in for is nothing or come back when it gets infected or whatever.

i prefer the new ask my gp system, usually i wouldnt see GP for anything with how it becomes a waste of time but with the online system i can clear off a whole load of stuff and even send photos and describe it better and it takes away the annoyance of waiting and being blown off and takes away the anxiety of having to meet a doctor and figure out how to structure what you wanna say. so much easier online.

  • although i dont like them phoning you back when you clearly clicked on the button that says you prefer to be emailed back instead of phoned. i find it hard to understand people over phone, not sure if their phone is crap or my mobile has a bad speaker or maybe my ear is crap lol but their accent doesnt help it either.
