MRI scan of head

Just wondering - would an MRI scan of the head for the purpose of checking for aneurysms also give other information regarding brain structures such as the amygdalae?  I've just had one done but think that the report will probably only focus on the medics' original purpose.  I'd like to know whether my amygdalae have been affected by the "anxiety years", or indeed whether they were larger to start with (so that I was always going to be prone to anxiety, irrespective of being autistic/in a neurominority).

  • I am basically a patient who asks loads of questions and, with my liver and kidney MRI scan, I had to ask more than once before getting the actual report from the scan.  I also like to see the actual pictures and to get these I had to wait until my next appointment, ask quite pointedly and only then did the very obliging consultant allow me to take pictures of what was appearing on his screen.  All my information, of course, so I felt entitled to it.  I wish they'd automatically give a full report but I suppose there will be patients who could freak out over it.
