Lost my mum

Hello my name is Rachel and I have asparagus in the last few hours my mum passed away she was only 66 and I’m only 29. I really don’t know how I am going to cope my mum was my rock. I’m worried about my mental health deteriorating and trying to support my dad. I really don’t know what to do I need help.

  • So sorry for your loss, Rachel. I also lost my dad when I felt both he and I were too young. It seemed so soon, so sudden. It also took a long time for it to sink in and for me to work through what I was feeling.

    Please reach out to your GP or another support service. There are specialist bereavement services, counselling and so on that I wished I used back then. At the time I didn't want to reach out because it would be like admitting my dad had gone, but I think it would have helped and he would have wanted that, too.
