probiotics

I have just been doing some very basic research into probiotics and Autism. I'm going to talk to my health visitor and/or GP about it. My son is 6 , has been diagnosed with Aspergers and has had some digestive issues in the past. Some of the research I've seen has been really positive for some  cases, but I need to do more research and get proper advice. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of using probiotics.

  • crystal12 makes a good point. The correlation between autism and bowel issues might simply be down to the chronic stress/anxiety that is part of the autistic condition.

I have Aspergers, high anxiety etc, but have never had bowel issues. I put this down to eating a balanced diet, high in fibre. I am not a fussy eater, but many on the spectrum are. And this might also explain bowel issues.

Regarding ***-feeding, my mother ***-fed me for 14 months, and I was very easy to feed. So it is not true that every child with ASC is difficult to feed, although I accept that for a fair number this can be the case. But we are all different.
