(Non-Autism-related) Physical Ailments

Whenever I get up or down, my left butt-cheek hurts badly. It's so painful, I struggle to even tie my shoelaces. Also, whenever I get up and start to walk, I feel like I'm going to faint.

I called the out-of-hours surgery last night, and the triage nurse on the call said, "Take Ibuprofens along with your Paracetamols, and call your GP on Monday morning!"

I've had issues with low blood pressure before; explanation for the light-headedness. But I fear that I also have nerve pain.

  • Good news;

    I am able to heal the sciatic pain by rubbing my lower back using a soup ladle. My complementary therapist suggested that, and it works a treat.

    I don't need a GP Consultation after all. :D

  • I was thinking that. Pinched nerves are a Right Mofo!

  • Yeah - gps are pretty rubbish - I have a lot of very concerning symptoms right now - but instead of seeing me, they did a telephone appointment and then I was sent to hospital for chest x-rays and blood tests.    According to 'Dr Google', I have either pleurisy or pneumonia or maybe an aggressive lung cancer.  Disappointed     Not ideal.

    I got stuck at the hospital - I parked the car in the car park which is at the top of the site - I then followed the signs to x-ray dept but it turned out it was miles down the corridors and different floors and lots more corridors until I got there and was panicky that I couldn't breathe any more and my legs were giving out - and I couldn't get back to the car - and I was also totally lost (memory issues).    I was in a bad way and starting to melt down.     Luckily, they called a porter with a wheelchair to get me back to the car park - that was very nice of them.

  • I find heat works well too. Plus Ibuprofen and Paracetamol mixed together. Not once have I ever been offered prescription pain killers even when I cant walk. Its like the Docs think I am lying.

    My mum was told she had a bad shoulder by her doc - three weeks later she was dead - aggressive cancer. It just shows that its impossible to communicate with a GP if youre on the spectrum. I gave up when I was 13 - I'm 47 now - lol

    Dovs are only ood for run of the mill stuff like obvious trauma injury or usual illness such as flu.

  • I agree with '871 - I'm living with a lot of pain right now and I've found 1000mg of paracetamol every 6 hours is helping a lot.    The only problem is it takes up to 1 hour for them to take effect - until a gentle disjointed / numbness 'comfort' occurs at the point of pain.     Watch out for stomach damage - maybe get some gaviscon too.

  • This is sciatica - have you got a fallen arch?

    Yes - it is autism related and almost certainly part of comorbid ADHD and in adult life - fibromyalgia.

    Can it just vanish like magic?
