Toilet issues help!

Hi my ten year old son is in the process of an Aspergers diagnosis. He won't use the toilets at school despite the SENCO giving him a pass to a private toilet, a photo on reception so he isn't questioned and today even escorting him there! Any one else had same issues and any advice gratefully received

  • I am a mum of a 7 yr old boy who i absolutely adore with all my heart,  he was diagnosed with asd when he was 3 years old and has made so much progress over the past few years he attends mainstream school and has a classroom assistant but atm he seems to be coping well and there is no worries.  Except one thing toileting has always been an issue,  from he was a young age trying to get him toilet trained for the poo situation has been a total nightmare, when he was in nappys there was no issue but when he became too big thats when the problems started he used to get himself so constipated he would have ran up and down in tears which led me to be completely distraught,  he would never take any medicine of any kind as he didnt like the texture of it,  movical also didnt work as he refused to drink it.  We finally got referred to a clinical psychologist when he was 5 1/2 and we seemed to make good progress at this time he refused to sit on the toilet we bought everything known to man to try and make his stay there more pleasant nothing worked but after a year of seeing the psychologist we finally made progress but now we seem back to square one we were discharged from the psychologist and are awaiting another appointment as for the past year the problems have increased and went up a notch leading me to complete and utter distraction, tonight for instance we were sitting watching a film together he was only out of bath and smelt fresh as a daisy 10 mins later walked inti kitchen and came back and instantly could smell poo this isnt like a solid bowel movement its leakages everytime u take his clothes off we have sat in the bathroom with him more or less begging him to go but it just leads to him being upset us being upset and it gets us nowhere and 5 mins later he will do the same thing. He has done it at one of his clubs thankfully he hasnt done it as school (fingers crossed it never does happen) just wondering if any other parent has gone through this and if so id there any other strageties i can use at the minute i will try anything.

    thanks
