PIP CON

As some of you are aware, I had my PIP assessment this morning.  And I'm not happy.

A few weeks ago I completed a very full application form describing which parts of life I have difficulty with.  And  what I don't suffer from.

The face to face interview this morning concentrated on those aspects of life I'm ok with and ignored due to lack of time any of my problem areas.

An analogy would be someone going to A&E in agony due to a dislocated shoulder.  And the doctor doing a full medical examination of the whole body, except for the injured shoulder.  And then declaring that the patient is in perfect health.

  • Hi,

Completely understand your frustration, I also had an assessor that focused on what I can do not what I can't I assumed that was because they had letters from specialists regarding the physical problems. I pointed out on my form that I am extremely nervous around unknown people men especially (ptsd following assault)  I was given a quiet young lady who I wasn't as nervous around ( thought they were being helpful ) but was marked down as I wasnt as nervous!

I would suggest maybe calling and asking why the issues that affect you weren't covered ( I know it was due to time ) but since all calls are recorded it shows that you have questioned this should you need to appeal.

I did get awarded pip at standard daily living rate based on medical reports but still got nothing for mobility and my appeal was rejected.
