Had a pretty good day at work - I bumped into my old boss and told her my suspicions about ASD. She wasn’t surprised and told me that my employers may fund assessments for me. Be good to get the validation- I’ve self diagnosed but it would be good to have the proof.

That's good to have such a positive encounter Bonniepurple, it will be interesting to hear what might be possible. I'm still in waiting mode, only got a letter to confirm that I'm in the queue (probaly the queue for another queue!).
Glad meeting your old boss was so positive and affirming. It would be great if they would. I thoroughly recommend the Lorna Wing Centre if you can get there. Not all providers of assessments are up to date on assessing adult women. So it would worth a bit of time finding out ( maybe even from the Lorna Wing Centre cos they train professionals too) if there is someone experienced in your area. Jumping ahead a little but...
That is such good news! You pleased? Did you read the transcript from the recent debate in parliament....it highlights how they really should be acting to shortened diagnosis times...for children as well as those 40+ adults x
