League of Friends hospital shop

I started a few weeks ago volunteering at my local hospital's charity shop which is for League of Friends charity, supporting hospitals in my area. I'm loving it. I'm on the till usually and although it isn't as busy as i had hoped it's great fun and i have the best team ever. :)

  • I volunteer at Age UK, where I am on the till, and I love it. It gives you a real sense of satisfaction and as though you are contributing in some way. You feel needed. I like till work because it is repetitive but at the same time you get some variety as people buy different things. I also like seeing the regulars, who seem to enter the shop at the same time every week. I do a lot of voluntary work because I can't do paid work but I need to be active. Voluntary till work is the most satisfying for me because I have the most responsibility and it feels like proper work.
