David,
in my humble opinion as an older (41) female aspergian, focusing your attention and hopes on a relationship to fix everything is not a good idea.
Lots of people (neurotypicals as well) think that 'if only I had that....' (car, job, gf, bf, money...) then I would be happy. They either don't get that which they want (and continue to be unhappy) or they find that the thing they wanted doesn't actually make them happy.
I think that you are very unhappy and lonely and need to address that first. Get some advice from anywhere that offers it, find things to do that makes you happy and make you feel good about yourself.
The things I do to make myself happy include spending time with my dog. I always feel happier after a walk and it's easier to talk to other doggy people because you just talk about dogs (repetitive and scripted = easy for me). Also I do some voluntary work once a week which is interesting and is something in my life that I am good at!
I hope you feel happier soon,
Lulu :-)
