Hi all, as mentioned in the long ASD women thread we will try a daily new thread to help avoid people and ideas getting lost.
Welcome all women with ASD self diagnosis or diagnosed is OK!
Hello! I'm Heather, 36 and married with 2 children. I'm starting to realise that I am more than likely autistic (very high scores on the online tests) and am probably going to go for a formal diagnosis at some point. Right now, it's enough that friends (at least one of whom diagnoses ASD as a job) have suggested it.
Of course you are distressed about today, but absolutely none of it was your fault, not one bit. I completely understand why you feel vulnerable, you were abused. I for one am still here and value your friendship here too so I really hope you can get back to feeling safe and supported although I can see that may not be easy. I hope you can find some peace and will still talk to us. Take care of yourself friend. x
Thanks for your concern everyone. I feel rubbish about today and sorry to have upset everyone. I'm not really sure why I needled Jep so much but some of it must have been my fault so am sorry for that too. I have removed all the details from my profile as I just felt vulnerable with the information there. I do apologise for making everyone uncomfortable. I was so grateful to find a group of friends but it's gone wonky now. Best wishes to you all.
Thank you lovely.....keep thinking about dark chocolate biscuits....
Enjoy the biscuit and the book and hey, take care of yourself . you've been putting a lot of energy into these forums, save some for you.
Hey Elephant. We've all been/are there too. It's one of those allow yourself time out days and if you can do something that gives you comfort. I've done the "have to do today" bit and now having a cup of tea and dark chocolate digestive biscuit and intend to read but not quite settled enough to open the book.
Ha! Just found this thread. I have a lot of learning to do re threads and posting! So it is right then.. we like animals, nature, ( spludging in mud?) open spaces, art and being creative and research.. Please nudge me when you start a new one or do I look at the home page? Mm how does it work? Yes I'm mid 50's and sometimes feel like 90 but you still feel the same inside. I came across this saying which I think is excellent.. "you don't stop laughing because you grown old , you grow old because you've stopped laughing " so keep laughing or at least smiling.
And then you think .. how much of my life has been moderated to suit the needs of others ...whilst reducing my own capability to have my true voice heard....then you are back alone rehearsing what you wish you had said.,,,,
I think that about sums it up, thank you Elephant. I do wish our brains had an off switch...
