PIP Claim was Disallowed.

Hello, I am new to this forum and wanting some advice and support.

About me...I am 26 years old male with Asperger syndrome, I suffer from Depression, Asthma, High Blood Presssure, Anxiety, OCD.

After having my PIP assessment with Capita, she typed my medical information onto her computer and then off she went. I called PIP for an update with my claim and she told me that it was Disallowed. And, I have asked for a re-considilation.

I am in a stage where I just wished I am dead. I hate this life that I am living and I do not have the energy or the motivation to challenege this decisison. I have given them all my medcial notes and I have asked them to contact my Psychiatrist to get the details of my mental illness and they did not bother! My Psychartrist could not give them my information as the system been changed and written information from them would be requierd. Since, they did not contact them base on my mental illness then it would be there fault! Anyway, My GP covering letter does note that I am depressed, mental health history, depression medication, panic attacks / social anxiety and will need an aid of a family member to escourt me out as I feel unsafe. I cannot read people and understand their facial expressions.

I am on DLA lower rate...both care and mobility!

At the moment, I just want to overdose myself...I given them all the information and why did they refuse me. Now, my depresion is getting more worse.

I have lost my recconsideration now having to appeal, i got my mp involved regarding asd traiing and knowedge.  They basically ignored anything to do with disability rights in apticular reasonable adustments, they have disadvataged us and they know it.  I am going down the path of wanting to sue.

I was told by atos that as long any health background with 2 ears experience can assess any disability.  Of course the dwp have not confirmed this as yet.

I hav come across many cases as ours no asd training and got no awards i has conacted NAS who are doing nothing either.  They are deliberately descriminating against disabled and human rights act while it still exsists here

Sorry you lost your reconsideration. This is my second attempt at pip. Was turned down without my diagnosis and now diagnosed still turned down. They say no cognitive or memory problems. They forgot sensory though and this is my argument.

Like yourself I am going to give a tribunal a go. I did last time but could not attend my case due to closing down with severe anxiety issues. I have some stress related physical problems too.

I think they are after case law on people with asd and the decriptors so they are turning people down in the hope of getting it to the upper tribunals. They are inconsistent in their awards/non awards and it's just a case of some they allow and others they don't. It's very confusing how they work. It's like they have total disbelief in autism existing.

I also got in touch with the nas and they weren't really any help as the lady who deals with people over 40 only works 3 days and mostly she does not reply for two weeks or so. Cab never have any appointments in time to help and as regards welfare workers ....I don't have a clue where to get hold of them. They seem to be non existent where I live. I don't go out to deal with people anyway and email is my most used communication but dwp won't allow you to email their case managers so you are left with phone calls whereby they twist everything you say.

Capita assessors are not autism trained either I don't think. Mine was a man who was a nurse who once worked on a brain injury ward. What use is that? I haven't got a brain injury, I have a development disorder so they say and I suffer with sensory issues.

I also don't take medications but have in my past and was advised by my psychiatrist at the time to come off them. Lots of people with asd are worse on antidepressants and anti anxiety meds. I was just turned into a zombie. I really could not go back to that. I was hypersensitive to their drugs. It's on medical records over 5 years I was on them. Screwed me up more than got me better.
