Feeling ill after Meltdown

Yesterday evening, after a particularly difficult day I had a meltdown. I spent about 45 minutes crying rather hysterically until I could calm down and afterwards I was exhausted and went to bed. I don't sleep well at the best of times anyway and this morning I woke up with an awful headache, feeling sick and very drowsy.

Does anyone else notice that they feel ill after a meltdown?

  • Hi Skybird, you could just be ill and not coping so well because of that, hence the big meltdown. I find it quite difficult to identify when I am physically ill, sometimes. I know it sounds a little crazy, but when I was working, sometimes I used to get up and go to work and only realise that I was physically ill, when I found that I could not work.

Either way, you should, perhaps take a few days rest and recover, before you resume normal life. Whether your problem is physical or emotional, a good rest will help.

When I feel bad, for whatever reason, I go into what I call "self preservation mode". I take time out to rest and be kind to myself.

I hope you feel better. Smile
