medication wrong

hi there , just hoping someone can give me advice plz   my son who has just gone 11 has asd and hemi cp, he in january was asked by cyps to start on risperidone dosage 0.5 twice daily he was doing fine , i ran up for a repeat script and have been giving him the tablets the same morning and night , only for him to take ill and ending up at A&E  dissy feeling as he said like walking on the moon he looked spaced out  i told them he recently started new meds but they didnt want to kow basically they took bloods and checked for diabetes and sent us home , still nxt day the same as i gave him his tablet i realised it was  a different does   only turns out that without me knowing they have gave him 2mg twice a day !!!!  when i checked his script its stated he should be taking this and a 0.5dosage together  ?!?what the hell have they done  hes only on them for a trial period   plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz  help hes like a zombie  , can i stop them till tuesday when he seees a gp

  • I think it is the chemist who has made the mistake, not the GP.  Are they open today?  If so, take the rest back and get them changed.  Otherwise do as state of independence says and cut them into quarters.  I take a similar drug, and I can't cope without them daily, .  Hope it helps.
