    You'll probably find an individual instance where you didn't reply fully or meaningfully has been forgotten, though they might register if you do this a lot, that you aren't good at it. But they are only going to be concerned if your input was important.

    I try to smile a lot, and do a lot of nodding. OK it can be unlucky if the conversation turns to bereavement, or someone seriously ill or someone who has lost their job. I just have to hope I pick up on that at some point down the line, so I can correct myself.

    But most of the time you don't actually need to give a full reply. Some NTs grunt and ermm a lot, as a form of demurment, showing they understand. They are just taken as being not very talkative.
