New job

I've been in the role for only a week but I can't handle the environment. I really don't know what to do.

  • I'm sorry to hear that - I hope it is not being too damaging for you.

Do you think there is anything that can sensibly be done to make the environment better for you or is it fundamentally unsuitable?

If you can cope with a few minor alterations then I would recommend asking for them but if it is really not suitable then it will be a case of planning how to leave I fear.

Even if you have to leave, try to think of it as a good learning experience on what to avoid or how to prepare yourself for the environment in future. There can always be a positive to found it you try.

  • Thank you,

I was part of volunteer work programme for the past 6months and it went rather well as I was placed in a small team with only one other person in my office and I was pretty  much left to get on with my work.

but since I was offered a full-time position I've been placed in a larger team. The phones are going constantly with multiple people all speaking at once and I can't  handle it. The workload is also alot more demanding as I'm having to keep switching between tasks. I really don't feel I'm in the right place and I dread having to go in every morning. My contract states I have to  give 1 months notice and I'm really scared about having to work a whole month.
