NEW DISCOVERIES.

To preface, let me just say that something I often do when I’m sick is to distract myself with horror stories or true crime. I was sick this weekend.

I just learned about the most efficient way to destroy the universe!

It’s efficient, but probably not feasible and it certainly wouldn’t be very exciting. But still!

An alternative is to tell Trump that the nuclear button is actually the kill fake news button.

I know it’s a joke and it did make me smile, but I can’t help but comment on it like you’re being serious (I blame Autism).

Realistically nuclear war would be horrifying, especially due to the likelihood of mutually assured destruction, but I‘m convinced humanity would survive it. Yeah, survivors would be slim and their lives would be horrid. It would obviously usher in a new dark age. Nuclear war isn’t necessarily as big of a threat to human kind’s existence as AI.

There are a few issues with fearing Trump with the nuclear football: 1. He is so narcissistic that he would never put himself in a position of personal danger, nor would he risk the massive amount of assets that he has in real estate in major cities. It’s not that he cares about American lives, it’s all himself. 2. Here in America, the president actually has to go through a bunch of steps before he gets access to nuclear weapons. Granted, it’s terrifying how close he is (I”m pretty sure he can launch missiles without congress or senate approval), but there are a few other people that need to be on board. 3. Despite what he said at the UN summit yesterday, Trump’s advisors are well aware that we are in a precarious position munitions-wise. Even if we nuke Iran and neither China or Russia immediately deploy their nuclear arsenal, it still would almost guarantee a war with China and/or Russia that we cannot defend ourselves against well enough.

Granted, Trump has surrounded himself with idiots and nut jobs that worship him as a deity, so there is potential that they may be easily swayed. Trump also very much wants his name in history books (as evidenced by his obsession with renaming everything), and that would be a sure way to accomplish that. I do feel a little at ease though knowing that not every single Republican is insane (yet), so there being others involved in that decision lowers the possibility.

Now North Korea, Pakistan, and India are the ones I think we should probably worry about. North Korea has less to lose than the other nuclear powers. Also, while the current North Korean administration wants to preserve themselves, who’s to say the next leader won’t be nihilistic? Pakistan and India hate each other so much that they’ve become accustomed to the saber rattling of nuke threats. All that situation will take is one extremist to come to power on either side and decide it’s actually worth dying for to eliminate the other. I think we’re safe for now, but that’s still a shaky situation.

Dang, sorry I word vomited over a joke you made lol. Nuclear holocaust is rarely a topic I can bring up in polite conversation outside of here, lol.
