Is Lucy Letby REALLY a victim of a miscarriage of justice?

Given the lengthy trial of Lucy Letby and the number of crimes she was accused of committing, can we really take seriously the claims, even from experts in the field, that there is simply no evidence Lucy committed any crimes?

  • I’m not sure this is an appropriate subject for NAS. Perhaps it’s the wording, but it comes across as debating whether Lucy Letby is innocent or guilty. Given that we’re talking about babies who died, I personally don’t think this is something that should be debated or speculated about here. Just my opinion

  • I agree its an upsetting subject and the events were appalling regardless of Letby's guilt or innocence, but if we don't talk about controvercies, especially potential miscarriages of justice, then we're all complicit in injustice, just be being silent.

What do you feel are appropriate subjects for NAS members to talk about?

May I respectfully suggest that if some people are genuinely upset by some of the topics under discussion why not simply ignore them? I'm not sure it fair for one or two individuals to stop others right to free speech.

  • I don’t think I’ve said that other people aren’t entitled to their opinions or that they shouldn’t be able to discuss things. I just said that I find this particular subject upsetting and that I don’t think it appropriate for this forum.

I’m allowed to have my opinion, just as other people are allowed to disagree with me. That doesn’t mean I’m trying to stop anyone else having their say.

I’m not looking to argue about it. Not every disagreement needs to become a conversation
