Teenager starting sertraline

Hi our 13 tear old is starting sertraline tomorrow for anxiety.  Has anyone been in this situation and can offer any advice? I'm a bit concerned he'll get side effects and how he'll handle that if he does. But his anxiety is so bad he hasn't been able to go far or out much at all ,see friends or attend school for years.

  • I take it for anxiety and depression, but I am an adult. I have taken it for quite a few years and tried stopping it when felt better and realised how much it actually does for me as I am a mess without it! I don’t notice any side effects, initially it can make your tummy a bit unsettled and I felt very sleepy to start with but now I just take it without issue. I hope it helps him.
