Theres no reason for him to be a martyr, he's only been arrested not condemned to death! But then I've noticed all these right wing political types have very thin skins and all about being victimised, I wonder what would happen if they were put into a real combat situation where the other side are equally well armed and shot back? I think they'd run a mile and complain that the enemy wasn't being "fair".

Hey, some good news on this front! I mean, I’m guessing he’s not going to be arrested for long and this is just going to make him a martyr in his followers’ eyes, but at least some smidgen of justice is coming about.

Absolutely, it’s terrifying. 

I think governments have been terrified of "communists" for so long that they forget the right are as much or even more of a danger.

I read earlier that RNLI members have been identified and where they live is known to these thugs, I hope if an RNLI mmber is attacked then the perpetrators are prosecuted in the same way and under the same laws that attacks on other emergency workers are.

Its also come out that the police were warned that something as going on, when a village was swamped with cars many illegally parked, one resident even called the anti terror hot line, an MP has photo's of the number plates of many of the cars. It's said that they all piled into the back of luton vans and drove to Dover, I thought it was illegal to travel in a van like that?

These people say they're Christian Patriots, I wonder if various churches across the country have seen a rise in congregations? Sounds to me like they're wannabe templars, I wonder how they'd cope with the serious monstatic discipline the Templars lived under?

This is organised Fascism, we're seeing the rise of Fascism in the UK and much like in the Weimar republic the political centre is more terrified of groups to it's left than the groups to it's right and will only selectively enforce it's own laws to suppress the Left but appease the right. 

They have made what they think about the dignity of human life crystal clear.

These people are a menace to society, as are others who would watch people drown.

I found that very saddening this morning when I read it.

If any of those abusive people are ever drowning I would like them to carry a sign 'do not save me'.

They are now attacking the brave volunteers of the life boats. They save lives at sea no matter who you are, while risking their own, but they are being targeting for abuse. 

If someone is drowning, you don't say, hang on, I need to run a back ground check to see if you are worth saving or not.

Another lot of the same group blocked Portsmouth earlier because a migrant boat was coming in full of asylum seekers and they didn't want it to land.

How did they know the boat was arriving?

How did they mobilise so quickly?

This time there was a bigger police presense, there were arrests and the riot squad was out.

I agree Martin, when you compare it to Gaza protests and the over policing there and the under policing of yesteradays protest.

I expect there to be an announcement proscribing this group as a terrorist organisation, just like Palestine Action and so many other groups on the left. Successive government have been warned for years about the threat posed by the far right, but they've chosen to ignore it.

I agree wholeheartedly with what you say, except I wonder if the police are tied by politicians.

What is really worrying about this is the lack of police presence, why were there no police in riot gear? It seems like a couple of granny's protesting about genocide in Gaza and the police are all over them, but hundreds of masked thugs holding up the lawful movement of passengers at the UK's largest ferry terminal, nothing. Also worrying is a police statement that the incident was a, "spontaneous protest". It was obviously organised beforehand! I think the relevant police force and its leadership need to be investigated, soon and thoroughly!

The uniform clothes and masks are intended to intimidate.

People like that, together with those masked adults and children riding e-scooters and e-bikes illegally in cities around the UK, are often connected with criminal gangs and controlled by others. The police are unable to stop them because they might fall off their machines and hurt themselves. 

Masked children ride around the centre of Belfast frequently and nobody can do anything. NI politicians aren’t interested in coming together to address this issue.

After the asylum hotel protests, protesters were identified,  arrested and jailed.  So wearing balaclavas is the natural next step to protect their identity. 

More's come out now the group behind it is called Patriot Platform and is run by a bloke called Daniel Thomas or Danny Tommo, it was all organised on social media, this chap has previously been in prison for being involved in a kidnap, he was a "bodyguard" to Stephen Yaxley Lennon, aka Tommy Robinson.

My son was involved in anti-fascist stuff for a long time, he used to go to places where the far right were marching to help protect people and property. You rarely ever saw these things in the media, but they were happening a lot, my son and the groups he was with were regularly attacked by the far right mobs, whilst the police stood by and watched. They had to have anyone with martial arts training at the front or outside to counter the violence from the far right protestors, these were never going to be peaceful protests, the far right went to cause trouble, intimidation and fear in largely minority communities. My son had to stop after he got quite a bad concussion from being hit with some object or other.

I agree that mounted police and riot squads often do seem to provoke things, from the experiences of lots of people I've spoken to over the years, its often the police who start it, riding into a crowd of peaceful protestors, families with small children, kettling them for hours in one place and not letting them out to go to the toilet or to get food or water, if not starting to hit people. If you don't believe me, go and have a look at the footage from The Battle of Orgreave and how that was twisted and covered up for years.

I see the lack of police pressence, awareness and action a sign of two tier policing. They would have had a lot of police around the port, plus private security because it's a major entry point to the country, so I dont' buy this taken by surprise and didn't have time to respond stuff, I think it an excuse.

Yes you are absolutely right. It makes me sick to my stomach the way that some people talk about other in this country, it really doesn't. It's sad she feels she would need to relocate but I don't blame her.

It would make you assume that it's been organised on the dark web. Much harder for the police to monitor. I can only assume that it was normal police because it was peaceful. It's a difficult call to make because if that had changed then it would have taken too long for riot squads to turn up. But I do think sometimes the appearance of riot squads can escalate things, it's almost like the sign of defence triggers aggression.

The irony is that many of these far right, anti-immigrant groups say they want to protect "our women and children", but themselves have convictions for domestic violence.

My daughter in law was subject to a racist attack just after brexit, she was walking home from work and some random bloke pushed her really hard into a lampost causing her severe bruising to her face. He shouted some pro brexit racist slogan at her as he pushed her and just walked off, she didn't even see his face. My son has taught her some basic self defence stuff, in case she gets attacked again. She has plans to relocate to Canada if Reform ever get elected.

How did no one know about this group and how did that level of organisaion go unnoticed and it has to have been very organised. I'm glad it was peaceful, but how come it was just ordinary police? Where were the mounted officers, where were the riot squads and meat wagons? I can't help feeling that if this had been a left wing political protest, police would have rapidly mobilised, people would of been kettled and picked up and bundled into the back of police vans and held, possibly arrested for public order offenses or even terrorism

That's funny, could have sworn I saw these lot on a BBC report of Middlesbrough town centre last week! They get around a bit! (sarcasm)
