Describing Burnout

Hi,

I didn't want to barge into a thread. However, I did want to say that I was very moved by haciaelvacio's description of burnout as "You are like a ghost operating in another dimension".

In severe burnouts I can recall my mind moving to somewhere like an empty office block, no sounds, smells, little colour, airless. Some sort of mental ground zero.

  • I believe I’m in burnout atm. I would describe it as desperation, absolutely everything is a huge effort and I find it difficult to have any enthusiasm at all. Yes get the emptiness but my thoughts race so much that overwhelm can strike in seconds. Floods of tears for no reason and very little to enjoy or feel positive about.
It is so tough especially when you’re an adult with responsibilities and children…. I wish I could be more Present
