As the Nature thread is rather slow to load now as it's a bit cumbersome, and as threads are locked after 6 months, I thought I'd start a thread for the wonderful 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' rather early, as it's not the 1st September yet.
I don't think I've ever been so glad to get one season kicked out the door and see another arrive.

Last year, towards the end of the summer, it was reported that the combined reservoir reserve here was around 13% of full capacity, with one at 7%! Then it started to rain!!! We quickly went to 100% and controlled releases of water across the region to keep the dams safe. Then, it didn't stop, and several villages were completely evacuated as there were fears of mountain collapse due to the extreme rainfall! We are living in very strange times.
