I used to be a part of a massive family and now i only have my partner and he mum so also tht is making me angry cause for so long i didnt need to worry about all this appearing in my life so i need all the information and help i can get on here from going talk groups online and in person to help my brain rest and to get me back how how i was b4 this started all cause i ddint get help taking anti depressants tablets to get me out of the rut i was in suck into my gaming tech all the time

  • I think the most important thing right now is to get some proper support rather than trying to handle all of this on your own and also tell your partner and her mum how bad things have become, especially if you're worried about what you might do. Ask your GP for an urgent mental health appointment and explain clearly that you're not sleeping, you're struggling to cope, and you've been acting in ways that scare you.

  • I used to do the same I'd walk until I was in extreme pain and then I and to walk. Back again you need to find coping techniques some how aldo if your partner understands why you do this she may be able to help. Like mine did but it was a long process as it's hard to understand someone's mind when you can't be in it

I wish I had the answers but I can't even say how u fixed my own stuff I guess I had the right help gallery in place at the right time.

  • Im sorry but speaking to someone Over a phone didnt stop me going for a silly 24 mile walk wanting to escape from every horrible thing in my head atm the time and if i didnt have my partner and her mum here i would be afraid.

  • Hi Gamertom

The way you've described your brain not being able to switch off sounds really exhausting. Many people can relate to catastrophising, so hopefully other members will share what has helped them.

You might also find this article on our website helpful: autism and catastrophising

As you've said you're feeling under a lot of strain, I wanted to share some support options.

The National Autistic Society does not provide a crisis or emergency service. If you're finding it hard to cope or having thoughts of harming yourself, please seek help. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or contact one of the mental health crisis services listed on our Urgent Help page: Urgent Help

If it's not an emergency but you're still struggling, speaking to a healthcare professional may help. If your GP surgery is closed, you can call 111 for NHS support. In England, Wales and Scotland, you can choose option 2 to speak directly to a mental health professional: When to use 111

Other free and confidential support is available:

    • Samaritans – call 116 123, 24 hours a day

    • SANEline – call 0300 304 7000, 4.30–10.30pm daily

    • Shout – text 85258, 24 hours a day

    • Mind Infoline – call 0300 123 3393, Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm

Take care, and if it helps, please keep posting here about how you're feeling.
