GP management

I joined a new gp practice and met with the compliance manager for the first time to discuss my needs. She told me autism is not disabling and that my condition is a choice i made. How am I supposed to process this? Is this appropriate behaviour?

They don't seem to have said this appropriately. One thing I think they could have meant is that we can try and manage the condition like try and avoid being overwhelmed
