I joined a new gp practice and met with the compliance manager for the first time to discuss my needs. She told me autism is not disabling and that my condition is a choice i made. How am I supposed to process this? Is this appropriate behaviour?

She said what? It is literally classed as a disability and is the way your brain works, not a choice. That is wildly inappropriate for her to have said and completely false information. I would put in a complaint. Or find another new GP practice. Or both. That is not ok.
