I'm living with autism and I'm undiagnosed.

It's getting worse as I age. I had a severe brain trauma when I was 14. It damaged me. I can't believe I survived it. I'm 49.

I have trouble focusing now. My mother thinks I also have ADHD.

I look after my mother as she is very sick and disabled. She broke her wrist last week because she fell over. Her wrist is swollen and she is in pain.

I make her tea and food. I'm working on her garden. I'm in a lot of pain as well, due to Barrett's oesophagus and diverticulosis. I'm perscribed pregaballin which is helping.

I'm trying to make things right. The pain is bad when I get a diverticular flare up. It happens a lot. I won't go into detail as it's very gross.

I don't understand autism. There are people that are autistic and are CEO's of companies. My mind wipes. It's like I'm stuck in Groundhog Day. I'm going around in circles.

I'm so forgetful. The hostipal said I just have to live with my ailments as it can't be operated on. This doesn't include my undiagnosed mental illness. It's too much.

Sorry for the rant. I hope you're well.

  • Thanks for the advice. It's really werid talking to my GP about autism and ADHD. It's very awkward. I don't want to be a problem.

The fatigue is the worst part. The combination of my ailments drains me of energy. Everyday tasks are a drain. I just want to slepp all the time. I can't talk about what happens as it is very gross. My GP said diverticulosis isn't a problem as everyone has polyps. The lady that did my colonoscopy said she has only seen it that severe in patients in their 90's and I will definitely need to eventually have a section of my colon removed.

It's geting worse, so I know my time is getting short. Honesty thinking about what I want to do before I get the news.

Strangely enough, I would be relived if my GP told me how long I have left.

  • Sorry you’re going through a bad time I really am. Speak to your GP first and foremost and take it from there. You may require another assessment/scan for the brain injury you had first to ascertain anything else.

please speak to your GP initially to see where you go from here.
