Disturbance from drones

I have just seen on the news that distribution of deliveries by drone are extending to another area. I don't think they could ever do it where I live because they might drop in the wrong garden. However as there is countryside nearby they could fly over. I imagine it could be worse if you moved to live somewhere quiet in the countryside.

What do others think?

  • I think it would feel like living in a dystopian film if there were constantly drones flying round with parcels.

Drones are surprisingly loud and I find their buzzing quite freaky.

I'm sure they would be designed very cleverly, but I'd still be worried about them crashing into each other, or falling out of the sky and causing injury/damage - if they carried multiple parcels I imagine they would get to be quite big and heavy.

You'd think the environmental impact of drone deliveries in terms of carbon would be better, and it could be more reliable (less human error or traffic delays etc). Though they might reduce the number of jobs for delivery drivers. I used to quite like seeing the postman when I was at home during the day.
