Others not helping mental health

I wonder if anyone else finds when they are struggling it is made worse by things that have to be done.

I am off work due to burnout. Among other things I needed to do was to get a sick note. I have to complete an online form on the 8th day, which I did before they open. It said off work with stress. Later in the morning I get an email to call to make an appointment. When I get through,, I am told they have run out of appointments for a week's time, so have to ring at 8 the next day. When I call I am asked about filling in an online form, so have to explain why I called. I then get told the slot I have for the call. I don't understand when they see I am stressed, why they don't just email the appointment for a week, as I had no choice. All this adds to the stress before even waiting for the call.

  • Hi

    I really get you

They seem like small things on the surface but the anxiety around them is massive and they just turn into mountains.

When you’re already in burnout, having to make calls, repeat yourself and deal with unclear systems just makes everything so much harder. It builds up before you’ve even got to the appointment.

Email feels so much more reassuring no pressure and time to process things properly.

I wish they offered that more.
