NHS Employment Help

I saw the mental health nurse the other day and she offered to refer me to the local NHS' employment service. I was aware that they had these services, but there isn't much information about them on the internet. So I was just wondering if anyone here has used one?

Apparently they are part of local talking therapies services and can help people with long term illnesses to find jobs and also stay in work for those who already have a job.

  • Interesting! It sounds a lot like what I do for a job here in the States, but I don’t know much about NHS. If it is anything similar to my job, then some of the benefits they might be able to provide include:
    1) Discovering what you want to do for an occupation.
    2) Assist with finding and applying for jobs.
    3) Help with interview readiness and possibly even sit in an interview with you if needed.
    4) Check ins to see how the job is going.
    5) Connecting with the employer to assist with communication or training.
    6) Eventually fading services as you gain deeper independence in the workplace.

    That’s basically a quick rundown of the services I provide for my clients. But things here in the United States might be different than what NHS is able to provide.
